7.6.3 The unit shall incorporate means for independent mounting designed to relieve strain from connected fuel lines. 7.5.3 Every hose used in the fuel tank vent system or the fuel distribution and return line system shall be secured to a mating spud, pipe, or fitting that is formed or machined to provide serrations (at least 0.38 mm [0.15 in ] depth) or a bead. At least one corrosion resistant metallic clamp shall be used.

The structural strength of the pontoon vessel must also be adequate for the expected wind and waves conditions (see section 3.2). The design of the hull of a pleasure craft that is not more than 6 m in length shall conform to the construction standards for buoyancy, flotation and stability. Every personal watercraft shall display a safety notice that indicates the precautions that must be taken in order to minimize the risk of fire and explosion, including the information set out in the construction standards. The design of a vessel’s superstructure, can everyone unfocus their eyes hull and fittings shall provide, in accordance with the construction standards, for the maintenance of watertight integrity and the prevention of downflooding. A pleasure craft that is 24 m or more in length shall be constructed, manufactured or rebuilt in accordance with the applicable recommended practices and standards in force on its date of construction, manufacture or rebuilding. Methods to determine the recommended safe limits of canoes and the maximum load of monohull with a power rating of less than 1.5 kW added in line with ABYC standards.

It may not be hidden by any cover attached with screws or any similar designs. If you sell a certified fuel-system component for someone else to install in equipment, give the installer instructions for installing it consistent with the requirements of this part. Fuel caps must also include a visual, audible, or other physical indication that they have been properly sealed.

You must seal the fuel tank no more than eight hours after refueling. Until the fuel tank is sealed, take steps to minimize the vapor losses from the fuel tank, such as keeping the fuel cap loose on the fuel inlet or routing vapors through a vent hose. Fill the fuel tank to its nominal capacity with the fuel specified in paragraph of this section, seal it, and allow it to soak at 28±5 °C for at least 20 weeks. Alternatively, the fuel tank may be soaked for at least 10 weeks at 43 5 °C. Void the test if you determine that the fuel tank has any kind of leak.

If you certify a component with a family emission limit above the emission standard, be sure to indicate that the equipment manufacturer must have a source of credits to offset the higher emissions. Also indicate the applications for which the regulations allow for compliance using evaporative emission credits. Detachable fuel lines that are intended for use with portable marine fuel tanks must have connection points that are self-sealing when not attached to the engine or fuel tank.
