The self-driving vehicles and advanced assistance application used for highly automated driving will depend on the V2X communication technology, which are empowered by fog and edge computations .

The main demerits are it required a large amount of storage and memory and also requires huge amount of certificate revocation list checks, since using large amount of anonymous keys. Meanwhile, aggregating vehicles into platoons could reduce the computation burden, making it more practical to be implemented in the real world.
