I say it is foolish to set up an expensive plastic high maintenance system when you can dig a hole and get freshly filtered water from the earth itself, and I stand by that. It’s cheaper, easier, less materials required, no less maintenance, more eco, full stop.

If you build a house based on your ideals then that will be grand – that’s what I’m in the process of doing.I’ve lived in a caravan for 6 years while I do so. If you live in the scottish highlands then heating is a requirement I can assure you of that. If you look at the location & design a house that suits that environment & build it as low impact as poss then that should be fine. Even if i don’t go with Earthships, I’m still interested in harnessing rainwater. barry air strain ozone I am not a huge advocate for Earthships but I do know a bit more about them than you do and I know people that have lived in them for 25 years with no health problems. As for off gassing – unless you have testing results than your guess is as good as mine.
